There are a number of reasons CostGuard can revert to demo mode.
1. A major change to the PC’s hardware (unlikely)
2. The license file is being erased, altered or overwritten; you can use a file monitor utility (like filemon) to track this possibility.
3. An external application is affecting CostGuard’s access to the license file. This can include (but is certainly not limited) to:
- anti-virus software
- auto-backup software
- fire wall
The license file is stored in the data folder, and has a $$$ extension. You may want to make a backup of it after entering the new codes, so you can then restore it quickly if the problem happens again.
